Competition Time

September 4, 2011

As some of you may know, I live in Falkirk. As some of you may know, I work in a bookshop. One of the best things about working in a bookshop is that from time to time you get to meet authors and find out that they are really nice people too.

One such author is Falkirk born Alan Bissett and he has just released his fourth novel, Pack Men, this week.

And I have a signed copy to give away.

If you would like to be in with a chance of winning this very good book, simply leave a comment below.

The closing date for this will be 30th September, after which I will put your names in a hat and draw the lucky winner.

Good luck…

  1. Sounds like an interesting story, but if I were to win, I would NOT want you to spend the money shipping it to me, so you could either 1) not put my name in the drawing – I am commenting as a supporter or 2) if I were to win donate it to a good (close to home so you don’t have to mail it) charity.

    Have a great day!

  2. Oh, PS, I am going to Tweet and FB this but I want to wait a bit so as not to tweet over/FB over what I just posted, ok? ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Simon

Just read a couple of reviews…the book looks interesting

I’ve met and talked a few authors of books I have read and it gives further insights into their books
It is great being able to ask questions about storylines, their relationship with their publisher and even cover design..

  4. Is Terre cheating and putting her name in twice? ๐Ÿ˜‰
I’m in — will muster up some busy this month for the contest — even though my chances are better with less people! ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Ha! Okay — I shouldn’t comment when I’m tired.

  5. Hi Simon, sounds interesting, I remember that day in 2008 well ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. very nice of you to do the giveaway, Simon. like Terre, i’d rather you donate the book there than spend the postage to ship if you picked my name. oh, and thank you for the kind #ff. hope you enjoyed your holiday. *hugs*
